The presentation of the Enterprising Britain Awards 2017 took place today at the House of Commons, Westminster where Rannia Leontaridi, Director, Business Growth at the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy presented unique hand-crafted glass awards to the five category finalists and certificates to the five Highly Commended projects.

Business West, the winner of the Support for Exporting category has also been chosen as one of the two UK entries into the European Enterprise Promotion Awards, where it has been shortlisted by the judges. It will find out if it has won at the EEPA Presentation event in Tallin on the 23rd November.

Enterprising Hull won the Improving the Business Environment category and were named as the Most Enterprising Place taking the overall winner award. Highly commended in this category were Bradford City Centre Growth Scheme and Business Durham.

Hatch Enterprise won the Building Enterprise Skills category and a Highly Commended Certificate was awarded to London South Bank University.

Winning the Promoting Entrepreneurial Spirit category was North Tyneside Council whose entry was chosen as the second UK entry into the EEPA, and they will also be attending the SME assembly in Tallin later this month.  Two Highly Commended Certificates were issued in this category to Aldershot Enterprise Centre  and World Class Worcestershire - a Place to Do Business!
