The UK's Enterprising Britain Awards 2016 are now open for entries.
The Awards recognise and celebrate the best in developing culture and in supporting SMEs to grow. Applications are welcome from Local Authorities, LEPs, Education establishments, as well as a range of public or private sector partnership initiatives from across the country.
There are four categories in this year's awards:
- Promoting entrepreneurial spirit
- Building enterprise skills
- Improving the business environment
- Support for exporting
One of the four 2016 category winners will be chosen by the judges to win the title of the 'Most Enterprising Place in Britain'. The winner of this title will represent the area/project who in the judge's opinion has demonstrated the greatest impact on the development of enterprise and entrepreneurship.
Two of the four Enterprising Britain Award winners may also have the opportunity to be entered as the UK entries into the 2016 European Enterprise Promotion Awards. Any shortlisted entries will be invited to attend a ceremony at the SME Assembly.
The Enterprising Britain Awards are part of the Government's drive to increase entrepreneurial activity in the UK and are managed by Investment in Young People on behalf of the Department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS).
